Weekly classes are held once a week during the term according to the term schedule. The classes are open to all students from all years from the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University; and from the Academy of Fine Arts.
Classes currently on offer are specified in the timetable available through the Study Information System (SIS). Students sign up for the classes via SIS. Students from the Academy of Fine Arts choose a class and sign up via e-mail to the academic assistant of the department (vratislav.chvatal@ff.cuni.cz).
A specific form of weekly class attendance is participation in trainings of selected sport clubs of the University Sport Association Humanita. All trainings are led by qualified coaches and instructors. This form of PE allows students to pursue their interest in sport on competitive level and to participate in regular university competitions. Participants have to be members of the University Sport Association Humanita. Selected training hours are included in SIS.
Courses and one-off events present an alternative to weekly classes. Participants in courses organised by the department can get credits for attending 5 days per academic year. A list of all available courses with information about the length, programme, and requirements are available in the section Sport Courses. Students can sign up via online form under the respective course.
1. Students get 2 credits for active participation in a weekly class. During the term, students are allowed 3 absences. Should students miss more than 3 classes (even for medical or study reasons), they can take make-up classes according to the timetable of the department. Make-up classes need to be arranged with the instructor.
2. Students get 2 credits for attending 5 days of courses per academic year. In SIS, kindly sign up for the subject “Zimní kurzy” (Winter Courses) code ASZTV0083 or “Letní kurzy” (Summer Courses) code ASZTV0084.
